Access UpRising is a movement dedicated to breaking down accessibility barriers and creating more inclusive communities. We believe accessibility should be the standard, not an afterthought.
Access UpRising was born out of lived experience and the desire to create a better future. Seeing the barriers that exist in everyday life and the impact they have on people, sparked a commitment to raise awareness and drive change.
“Rising up” represents standing together to challenge outdated systems, remove barriers, and create solutions that allow everyone to participate fully in life. It’s about empowerment, advocacy, and community action.
Accessibility doesn’t just benefit people with disabilities, it makes life easier and more inclusive for all. From ramps and captions to thoughtful design and communication, accessible spaces reflect equity and respect for everyone.
We address physical, digital, and social barriers. This includes things like buildings without ramps, websites that don’t work with screen readers, events without captions, or the lack of planning that leads to someone being left out.
Access UpRising creates change through advocacy, education, and collaboration. We share stories, partner with organizations, host events, and encourage communities to take actionable steps toward accessibility.
Access UpRising is for everyone. While our mission centers around people who face accessibility barriers, the work ultimately benefits families, businesses, schools, and communities.
You can support by learning, sharing, and advocating. Speak up when you notice inaccessibility, join our events, follow along on social media, and help spread awareness about the importance of inclusion.
Businesses and organizations can partner with Access UpRising to evaluate accessibility, sponsor events, provide resources, and commit to inclusive practices that make their spaces and services welcoming to all.
Stay connected by following us online, subscribing to updates, attending events, or reaching out directly. We welcome conversations, partnerships, and collaborations with anyone ready to rise up for accessibility.
